Summer Vacations

Now that the kids are all officially back in school. I thought that I should give a little update on what we have been up to this summer. Somehow between three weddings:-) one funeral :-( and other misc activities we managed to have a pretty great summer. Joshua had a blast at BYU basketball camp with his cousins. Hannah met Jenny Phillips at girls camp. The whole family rocked out at the Jonas Brothers concert and to top it all off we went camping and boating up at Lake Hebgen near West Yellowstone. We paid 20 something bucks for the privilege of driving thru Yellowstone and I had to keep yelling at the kids to get their noses out of their video games and look at all the umm....trees. It seems that all the wildlife was napping or something. Anyway, it was a busy summer but we survived and even had a little fun. Here are a few pictures.

Thomas Family Temple Day

Our very dear friends Mike and Mariella Thomas went thru the Temple last week and were sealed together forever as a family on Saturday. It was just over a year ago that they were baptized. So many miracles have happened since then to bring them to this point. Words cannot describe how wonderful it was to watch their family be sealed together. I don't think that there was a dry eye in the room. Steve and I feel truly blessed that we were invited to witness and be a part of something so special.

Tyler's Graduation

I know Graduation was almost a month ago but I had to post these pictures from my Nephew's Graduation. Ty lived with us for a while during his High School career and we definitely had our ups and downs but I have to say it was a privilege having him in our home. Congratulations Ty! I am so proud of you.

Womens Conference and Wicked

I am having a hard time coming back to reality today after the wonderful weekend I had with my mother and sisters. It has been a tradition now for 4 years that my mom, my sisters and I attend BYU Women's Conference together. It seemed as though every speaker tailor made their talks just for what I needed to hear. At the closing session with Elder Perry the congregation was singing The Lord is my Light. All of a sudden people started to stand up and then Elder Perry and Elder Nelson stood and by the end of the second verse everyone in the Marriott Center was standing and singing The Lord is my Light with tears streaming down their faces. Words cannot adequately describe the feelings in that place at that time. It was truly a "Zion Moment"
Then as if the weekend couldn't get any better, Saturday I got to take my mom and my sisters and Hannah to "Wicked" at the Capitol Theatre. We went to dinner first at The Roof Restaurant and then headed over to the theatre. When we walked in I thought Hannah was going to hyperventilate. She was so excited. We were a little early getting there so we had to wait for about a half hour before the show started. She kept turning to me and saying "I can't believe I am actually here" and when the lights dimmed and the music started she had the biggest grin on her face. I think it was more fun to watch her then the show.
